Youth Gaitherin Events

Every Year we run events. You can find out about them here...

Edinburgh`s Youth Gaitherin is for primary 5 - secondary 6 students who want to learn about Scots traditional music, song and dance. It is for complete beginners, as well as experienced players or singers. You don`t need to be able to read music.

Our main event every year is the non-residential Easter Event and we also organise events as part of Edinburgh`s annual Fiddle Festival.

If you`ve never played traditional music before then our events give you a chance to try new instruments like mandolin, tin whistle or fiddle or have a go at singing or step-dancing!

If you already play an instrument then we can offer expert teaching from some of Scotland`s finest traditional musicians.

You can find reviews of the Youth Gaitherin and other events here.

Drummers at the 2004 Easter GaitheringThe Youth Gaitherin is fun and friendly. We want to help you to improve your playing and your confidence and learn more about Scots music.
