Anyone from Primary 5 to Secondary 6 (Priority given to those living in Craigmillar)

The Tutors

Anna Ryan

Anna Ryan will lead the fiddle class.
Some of you might know Anna from her work at Craigmillar Books for Babies. Anna is an experienced fiddle player with a keen interest in Scottish music. As well as fiddle, Anna also plays guitar and button accordion. She has also played in a Polish dance band!

Mairi MacFadyen

Mairi McFadyen is our keyboard tutor. Mairi recently graduated from the University of Edinburgh where she studied Scottish Ethnology – music, folk tales, language, and other aspects of Scottish culture. Mairi also plays the whistle and the cello.

Dave Francis

Dave Francis teaches guitar, singing and song writing. Dave learned his music playing for dancing in the village halls of North East Scotland. After completing a tour of the United States, he relocated to Edinburgh and teamed up with his partner Mairi to form The Cast. Dave and Mairi have recorded a number of CDs and they have performed on radio and television!

The Classes

Every week the classes will run as follows:

1.15 – 1.45 pmBeginners fiddle and beginners keyboard
1.45 – 2.15pmImprovers fiddle and improvers keyboard
1.15 – 2.15pmBeginners guitar
2.15 – 3.15pm Singing and Songwriting

All of the classes cost 50p per week. You can enrol at any time throughut the year.
